In June 1998 came the TV show “Sex and the city” lasting for 6 seasons up until February 2004. The TV show was about 4 friends in New York City, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte York (Kristin Davis), and Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and their journey to finding love and having lots of sex before finding it!

The movie is more or less a continuation of “three years later” of the TV show. The actors are the same. In The TV show, the women were in their 30s and now their in their 40’s- of course.
Charlotte and her husband Harry is a “reproductively challenged” Jew couple who had adopted a baby girl (Lily) from China. Miranda and Steve moved to Brooklyn with their son Brady. Samantha moved to Hollywood with her Actor boyfriend, Smith Jared. Carrie is a writer who first dated the supposed love of her life Mr. Big, broke up, had a few more boyfriends but still remained friends with him. In the last episode of the last season of the TV show, they realized they were meant for each other.

Carrie and Big go hunting for an apartment and finally finding one Big decides to buy it for them. Unmarried, Carrie feels secure about this until the four women attend an auction event of a woman who had dated a Billionaire for 10 years, only to end up on the street one day with nothing. Carrie then feels insecure and questions Big about it and they decide to get married.

I don’t know about other fans but only now did I find out that Mr. Big’s name is “John James Preston”. Maybe I wasn’t paying that much attention to the TV show?

Carrie’s editor for Vogue magazine wants her to do “40”for their “Annual Age Issue” where Carrie is to be featured as a bride. In her photo shoot she wore wedding dresses by Vera Wang, Christian Lacroix, Christian Dior, Oscar De la Renta, and Vivienne Westwood.

Carrie then receives a package from Vivienne Westwood with the dress she wore for the photo shoot in it to wear for her wedding!

Miranda and Steve encounters new problems, Charlotte’s still full of good luck in her life and Samantha eats so not to cheat (a note to men I suppose; just get fat like your wife does!)

And just when we thought all was to go well…
