I like going out to clubs. I like meeting new people and making new friends when possible. If you live or are visiting Changchun, you most probably have been or heard about Mayflower; the notorious disco in Changchun where you can pick up any race, religion, gender, sexuality and disease.

Mayflower’s fun at times. Friday nights are the best time to go because that’s when most people go anyway. I’m not talking about the “new” Mayflower at Mundan St., I’m talking about the one at Renmin St. They usually play music right after they are removed from the charts for about 3 months. Once, one of the DJ’s who’s Filipino played “Hindi Ako Bakla (I’m not gay)” which was quite funny to me. The only thing I understand from that song is the title though, but that’s enough. Ever seen the video of that song?

So anyway, here are a 10 reasons why I don’t like going to Mayflower:

i.) Hangover

ii.) Hair and clothes smelling like barbeque (I smoke but I like to smoke my cigarettes, not about 500 people’s side-stream smoke!)

iii.) The gossip that spreads across the dorm afterwards

iv.) The lack of cute guys

v.) The lack of people I don’t know

vi.) The music

vii.) The fights

viii.) Overpriced (but expected) drinks

ix.) I lost my V.I.P card and am too lazy to get another one

x.) I don’t like dancing that much

BUT hey! Do go visit if you haven’t and make up your mind for yourself! Maybe in one of my rare visits, we’ll meet! Ahahaha!
